Yesterday, James Comey held a press conference in regards to the ongoing investigation of Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized email server. In this press conference, he laid out all of the evidence that the FBI collected and the results of their investigation. In the end, it was the recommendation of the FBI that there should not be any indictments. Well, that should the end of that. Yeah, you would think it would be.
Maybe it is a case of confirmation bias, however, there does seem to be some indications that there might have been more to this story than meets the eye. In the conference, Comey reveled that there were indeed a number of classified documents that were sent or received by her unauthorized server; some of which were classified as top secret. Additionally, despite the fact that there was no evidence of an intrusion, it was highly likely that there was an intrusion and any intrusion would not leave any evidence due to the lax security.
Comey stated that Clinton was grossly negligent with her handling of classified information. In addition, he said “To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences.”
I might be reading what I want to read but that last part implies that if this was anybody else other than Hillary Clinton, there would have been an indictment or at least some sanction. We can speculate as to why that is: quid pro quo, pressure from the top (Obama), or even veiled threats to his life. The bottom line for Clinton is not good.
The bottom line is that Clinton was grossly negligent with classified information and due to that negligence, classified information including top secrets was most likely leaked. This whole scandal revealed Clinton as person who cannot be trusted with classified information, lies when confronted about her irresponsible behavior, and operates above the law.
Do we really want such a person as president of this country?
