On Friday, the man who killed Philando Castile was acquited on all charges. For those who are not familiar with this case, Castile was pulled over allegedly for having a burnt out tail light (code word for “driving while black”). The real truth was the officer was confused because after all we know all blacks look the same (sarcasm).
The officer held him at gun point and told him to get his wallet. He told the cop that he had a gun and that he was licensed. He did what he was supposed to do and was instructed to do. The revealation made officer snowflake lose his feces and fatally shot him.
What does it take to hold a police officer accountable when they act in a unlawful or reckless manner? Obviously, witnesses and videos are not sufficient. All that police officers have to do is say they felt their lives were in danger and all is excused.
This is a problem folks.
Not holding the bad apples accountable destroys trust in law enforcement. When that trust has been destroyed, it becomes more difficult to maintain law and order. You will see more riots and people taking shots at police. Of course, the police will respond by becoming even more like a military force than they are now.
It will not be pretty.
