In all due respect to McCain, the problem with “bombastic loudmouths” in the media is due in part to the party to which he belongs. Let us keep in mind that many of those loudmouths are the ones that worked diligently to build up his party’s power. Let us not forget that those loudmouths are the one who helps perpetuate this winning at all cost culture that has permeated DC. In addition, the actions of the Republican Party are not those that promote unity (McConnell’s changing the rules twice to appropriate Scalia’s seat is a part).
Let us not forget the Democrat’s role in this because they are by no means, perfect little angels. On the other hand, given the behavior of the Republicans during the last eight years, it is hard to blame them but two wrongs do not make a right.
It is no coincidence that now that the Republicans own the entire Federal government they now want unity. Sorry to say this, if they want unity they need to offer an olive branch.
Sen. John McCain derided “bombastic loudmouths” in the media as he dramatically returned to the U.S. Senate Tuesday and called for senators on both sides to show spine and compromise on healthcare.”Stop listening to the bombastic loudmouths on the radio and television and the internet. To hell with them,” he said to rare applause in the chamber.
