State and local Republicans have expanded early voting in GOP-dominated areas and restricted it in Democratic areas, an IndyStar investigation has found, prompting a significant change in Central Indiana voting patterns.
Tell me again why we should believe the authoritarian right that policies such as Voter ID are needed?
The truth of the matter is that policies such as Voter ID are really a solution in search of a problem (assuming that those who support such policies are being truthful). The type of voter fraud that Voter ID would address is exceedingly rare. As a matter of fact, if one was to attempt that kind of fraud, it would be easily detected. If the authoritarian right was really serious about voter fraud, they would look to the ones who count the votes.
At this point, the real intentions behind Voter ID and other similar policies are apparent. It is not about stopping fraud. It is about preventing certain people who vote for the wrong people from voting. It is the authoritarian right abusing consolidating power and the creation of a one party state.
