Drive-in chain Sonic says payment cards possibly hacked

U.S. fast-food chain operator Sonic Corp (SONC.O) said on Wednesday a malware attack at some of its drive-in outlets may have allowed hackers to access customers’ debit and credit card information, the latest in a string of data breaches.

Is it me or are these data breaches becoming more and more ridiculous? Of course, Sonic will not be held accountable for mishandling sensitive information just like Equifax. There needs to be a way to hold corporations accountable for not being good stewards of sensitive information.
